Quality : technical / without anti-caking agent Appearance : Sodium formate is a colourless, bitter-salty tasting, crystal water-free salt with reducing characteristics. It is very hygroscopic and very soluble in water. 49 g of salt is dissolved in only 100 g of water. It creates Di-and Trihydrates. Application : Sodium formate is used as a main raw material in the production of formic acid, oxalic acid and sodium oxalate, and as an ingredient in leather tanning, oil drilling fluids, animal feeds and eye drops. Because of its reduction capability, it is often used as an ingredient in galvanic and fixing solutions.
